Do you accept insurance?

Currently, Kim accepts the following insurances for in-office nutrition counseling services:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts*

  • Harvard Pilgrim Health Care

  • Tufts Commercial Plans

  • Aetna

  • Cigna

  • United Healthcare

  • Allways Health Partners (formerly Neighborhood Health Plan)

*If you have an out-of-state Blue Cross insurance plan, please call to verify coverage for medication nutrition therapy (see below)


How do I know what is covered?

It is highly recommended that you call your insurance company before your visit to find out what is covered under your specific plan, as Greene Nutrition does not verify your benefits. Please call the phone number on the back of your insurance card and ask to speak to a representative. It may be helpful to ask your insurance company the following questions:

  • Is medical nutrition therapy/nutrition counseling a covered benefit under my plan?

  • Does my plan only cover nutrition counseling for certain medical conditions?

  • Do I have any co-pays due at the time of visit? If so, how much is it?

  • Do I have deductible to meet? If so, how much left?

  • Do I need to obtain a referral or prior authorization before my visit?

  • How many visits are covered?

Description of Services



60 minutes

During your first one-on-one session, Kim will gather information about your past medical history, current dietary and lifestyle habits, and personal nutrition goals. She will work with you to create an individualized plan to start you on your journey towards greater health and happiness.

If possible, please bring recent lab work, a medication list, or other pertinent medical information to your first visit. You may also have your doctor fax it to the office at 617-300-8945.



45 minutes

How often we follow-up is ultimately up to you, though most clients find it helpful to meet every 2-6 weeks. You and Kim will continue to work as a team in all of your follow-up counseling sessions as you set sustainable nutrition and lifestyle goals.



Kim offers both initial and follow-up nutrition counseling via phone or Skype.

Virtual sessions are usually not covered by insurance and payment will be required at the time of service. However, Kim can provide you with a Superbill after the session that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement of your out-of-pocket expenses for the visit.

Kim offers supplemental nutrition services on an as needed basis. This may include grocery store guidance, recipe/menu development, cooking demonstration and assistance, corporate presentations or tables, and writing contributions.
